It’s like the prevent defense in football. Never works.
Nice volley.
Holland’s experience should decide this.
Sorry, I misunderstood you. Yes, I quite agree.
Sneijder, what a strike!
I like Colombia’s chances against Brazil quite a bit. For me they have been one of the most consistently impressive teams in the tournament. I think they can handle the hometown cooking and if there’s an upset to pick so far, that would be mine.
I suppose. But it tells me that US soccer has fully arrived. We can certainly play with Mexico.
And they get the penalty when it matters most.
Penal as the Spanish announcers say it, they are giving the Dutch a PK??? YES
The Robben shark strikes...
GOOOOOOOOL! 2-1 Netherlands.
Of the three plays involving Robben, that was the least likely in my view to wind up on the spot. But a great penalty, well taken and on balance, well deserved.
I feel bad for Mexico, but you can’t sit on a one goal lead, for 45 minutes, against Holland.
Late penalty with a kick in the box dooms Mexico in the 92 minute.
Been traveling and am in Spain. So the USA is still in it?
Adios, Mexico.
I agree with the ESPN announcers, Bob Ley, that would have been Mexico’s greatest World Cup victory ever. Maybe there are some comparable games but that would have been big.
Yes. They play Belgium on Tuesday.
Watching the reaction of the Mexican coaches with the officials after the match. Given that Robben could (and probably should) have won two more penalties today, and Mexico was playing with fire in its defensive box all day, they really don’t have a lot to complain about.
Great, we got here two days ago and find the travel and time difference keeps putting us to sleep.
Agreed, I feel bad for Mexico. Too bad we have political problems with that country. I think that is why a lot of people are against them.
Hope your trip is going well. Jet lag is no fun.
