I have grown zukes in every garden I have planted. And I have never had an overabundance of zukes either. I have usually planted 2 or 3 plants each year, this year only 1 plant has been planted.
Mr. Sg did Three Sisters last year so we had 12 squash plants per row (zucchini and winter squash). There was barely enough squash for another family and us.
