RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) -- FIFA has banned Uruguay striker Luis Suarez from all football activities for four months for biting an opponent at the World Cup, ruling him out of the rest of the tournament and the start of the upcoming Premier League season.
The ban also covers Uruguay's next nine international games, which goes beyond the next four months and rules him out of next year's Copa America. FIFA also fined the Liverpool striker 100,000 Swiss francs ($112,000).

Somebody needs to buy the boy a Big Mac.
Did it impact the game? Will Ty Cobb’s records be invalidated next?
A Big Mac wouldn’t have helped. Sometimes you’re in the mood for Italian.
LOL!
So how long will he be playing while an appeal grinds on?
Cut him some slack. Maybe he’s from a tribe of cannibals. All cultures are equal.
Only in soccer could a guy bite multiple people and still have teeth left.
Someone should just take the red card and elbow this fool right in the mouth the first chance they get...
THREE TIMES? Please...
“Only in soccer could a guy bite multiple people and still have teeth left.”
I never thought about it, but that’s about right. Most sports even your teammates would make sure it didn’t happen again.
Did he pull his hair, too? I guess fights in soccer look a little different than in hockey.
New meaning to “eating Italian..”
Three bites and he’s out
The trouble with eating soccer players is, you can eat a whole team and you’re hungry again in an hour.
Should have been for LIFE!
No Olive Garden nearby.
btw I notice soccer players screaming and all dramatic (overly so at times) when another player collides with them. To be honest they don’t wear padding like football players; no chest protectors like catchers, etc. No helmets..
“Only in soccer could a guy bite multiple people and still have teeth left.”
Perfectly said.
He should be gone for life. I love soccer but what a complete joke FIFA is. Any goodwill the sport has garnered in this World Cup just went right out the window.
Yes, it did impact the game.
IMHO, it’s not enough to be the most boring game on the planet. Now they’re literally trying to eat each other.
Being a third offense for biting, I’m on the side of banning him for life, but as far as I can tell, this is the longest ban FIFA has ever dished out for conduct during a match.
