Hours after a Mississippi family reassured the public Tuesday that their story of a little 3-year-old disfigured girl getting kicked out of a Jackson KFC was true, the fast food giant confirmed that two different investigations proved it was a hoax....
But KFC, who pledged $30,000 to the girls family for her care, easily debunked the tall tale, finding, for example, that Mullins and little Victoria never set foot in a Jackson KFC on May 15, much less were kicked out.
One investigation was carried out by KFC, while a third party did a more thorough review.
Neither revealed any evidence that the incident occurred and we consider the investigation closed, KFC said in a statement Tuesday afternoon.
The family had earlier posted on a Facebook page dedicated to tracking the girls recovery that the story was not a hoax.
It is not over until KFC releases a statement, the family wrote.
But after KFC closed the case, the family dismantled the Facebook page and could not be reached for comment.
And the gofundme.com campaign page for the girl was suspended and refunds offered to those who had donated, CNN reported.
"In lieu of the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the 'Victoria's Victories' online fundraising effort, GoFundMe has temporarily suspended the campaign until the full truth is made clear," ....
KFC says it will donate $30,000 to little Victoria, despite the fact the investigation found the ejection claim to be a hoax.
The Laurel Leader-Call broke the story of the hoax Monday night after unnamed sources gave some of the damning details the KFC third party investigation had found.
What is not in dispute is what happened to little Victoria: She was mauled in April by three of her grandfathers pit bulls during a visit to his home....

These hoaxers need to be brought to justice.
Me, sometimes, when my cardiologist ain't looking.
I hope they can place the money in a trust for her, or something.
I just can’t get over the shamelessness. No doubt the grandmother is sorry she was caught, but ashamed of her actions? I would bet the answer is no.
“KFC says it will donate $30,000 to little Victoria, despite the fact the investigation found the ejection claim to be a hoax.”
I think this just enables and encourages fraudsters.
YES! LOL I realized I could have been more clear about three seconds after I posted that. The answer is both.
I am a grandmother. How that woman could behave like that I do not understand. I would get rid of any pet I thought would hurt a child, before that child was born.
The whole family of grifters was in on it — the mom and dad who knew granny was lying can be seen in the original story here on WAPT:
and they featured pitbulls in the segment — but of course little Victoria was more afraid of a KFC chickenwing than those pitbulls the newswoman showed chained up.
That was an interesting clip, and not in a good way. The lies just flowed from that woman’s tongue with ease.
I wonder how they explained it all to the little girl? “Honey, we’re going to make up a story about us getting kicked out of the KFC so they’ll give us some money. So you smile at the camera, now.”
This is more good news. The Left’s vilification of American businesses is failing.
We live in the Age of Distrust.
The clip is interesting —
Does anyone really think that this little girls mom [and dad] would let her out of their sight for a minute after this dog-mauling much less after she got out of the hospital after a monthlong stay in critical care.
And yet this bimbette reporterette wanted us to believe that they let mindless granny pick her up at the hospital and take her to KFC without one or both of them coming along???
Granny was set up here to do this by this grifter family. The whole lot of them should be charged and the reporterette should be fired.
The media didn’t investigate, but went with it as though it was confirmed fact. IMO that’s more evidence of how touchy-feely society has become. If it’s an “awwww” story, we have to rush to wallow in it.
Is there any word on prosecution for this? I’ve heard nothing so far.
I don’t know —
But did you notice that part of that clip was filmed in front of the alleged offending KFC and the reporterette didn’t bother to go inside.
All the reporterette had to do was to go inside and ask a few questions and it would have been over before it started.
But no — she wanted it to be true to get her face on the news so she could be the news hero of the day.
Instead she ought to be unemployed.
