SAO PAULO, Brazil The U.S. national soccer team will arrive at Arena Pernambuco in Recife for Thursdays pivotal World Cup match against Germany after playing in Amazonian air as thick as hummus four days earlier. Italy also lost to Costa Rica by 1-0 but their opening victory over England means the four-times World Cup winners need a point from the fixture, while twice champions Uruguay must win because of their inferior goal difference.

Balotelli: Forget about Suarez, all that matters is Italy win
As a result, Japan sit third in the group on one point, two points behind second-place Ivory Coast, who face Greece on the same evening.
As it stands, a Japan victory against Colombia would be enough to see them advance into the next round if Ivory Coast narrowly lose against Greece.
Colombia, however, have already safely booked their spot in the knockout stage of the competition following two wins. The South American team opened their group campaign with a 3-0 win over Greece, before beating Ivory Coast 2-1 last time out.

World Cup 2014: 4 arrests during celebrations in Los Angeles area after Mexico beats Croatia

In one way, it doesn't strike me right they celebrate so much but I'm sure you have big celebrations when Italy wins in the World Cup as well.
The thing with the World Cup is after Sunday, either Netherlands or Mexico won't still be in the World Cup. I know the Dutch will be favored. So fans have to celebrate while their team is there. Since the game is in Latin America, I have to give that edge to Mexico. They did only go out to penalties in the 1986 World Cup against West Germany.
They do have a chance vs. Brazil. Netherlands certainly defeated Chile. Difficult to determine the significance of that match.
We can beat Brazil, says Chile's Vidal Vidal who plays for Juventus was rested and did not play vs. Netherlands
"We have one day less to recover. They played yesterday, we played today. We played in the Amazon, they played in the locations where they don't have to travel as much. Everything was done for the big favorites to move on. We have to do it the tough way but we're going to do it the tough way."

They suffered from playing in Manaus, just as I am afraid the US will.
Been saying it for years, what Mexico needed was a good coach, they have the talent. Now we see the results.
I hope Barkley shines today. England has a good core of young players.
Despite the disappointment of 2014, their future is as bright as it has been in quite some time.
