I can answer that - NO!!!
At least with my parents. They are FDR Democrats, the same FDR that got us out of the Depression and won WW2. Then they gave us Kennedy. Nothing after that matters to them, the simply don’t see it. But damn, if they don’t DESPISE Republicans.
Thankfully, with the exception of my parents (LOL), these Democrats are going bye-bye relatively soon, hence the need to replace them with Amnesty.
“the same FDR that got us out of the Depression and won WW2.”
I disagree. WW2 got us out of the Depression, not FDR. Without WW2 the USA would have been experiencing the Depression as long as FDR was in office.
You mean the FDR that EXTENDED the Depression and gave away the store after WWII?
FDR did NOT get us out of the Depression.
FDRs policies directly prolonged the Depression by over 13 years.
If Milton Friedman were alive he would state that the Great Depression ended with FDRs death.
If FDR followed the approach that Harding took (cut back government by 50%) it would have been over in less than three years.
My parents were quite different than yours. They, too, were FDR democrats. And having been Irish Catholics (from Boston,no less) they were *thrilled* with JFK.But once they got a look at McGovern,RFK and the swill dropping acid from coast to coast in the mid/late 60's they were solid for Nixon. And they never looked back.
My parents were Kennedy Democrats..very Prolife and very strong belief in God and very conservative. They changed party when Blue Dress Billy Bubba showed up. My mother said no and my parents loved Bush sr. From then on, no more voting democrat. They voted Republican until the Lord called them home. =)
“the same FDR that got us out of the Depression”
His interference prolonged the depression. Then WWII disguised the depression. Depression did not end until after the war.
Sounds like my parents. Both are now dead, but I kidded them one time that they thought FDR was still the president. They didn’t laugh. Both were religious and strong social conservatives. But they hated Republicans. Because Republicans were all greedy, and the Dems stood up for the little guy. You might as well have been trying to convince a newborn baby not to wail than convince my parents they might have been wrong about politics.
