The used-car market is really tight.
People can’t afford new cars, so they are turning to used cars, and they are in short supply and prices for a low-mileage used car are not a great amount lower than the price of new
I have a 2006 Corolla with 30,000 miles on it.
:-)
.
I have a 2004 car with just under 90,000 miles on it. In great shape mechanically and body wise. Bought brand new and have taken good care of it. Get an offer from a dealer at least once a week giving me $1,000 more than blue book if I trade it in on a new car.
Have been offered $3,000 more than blue book from a guy wanting to buy it for his daughter. But it’s not for sale. Can’t afford cost and insurance for a new one and don’t like them either.
I recently bought a 2002 Mazda Tribute with 76k miles on it in almost new like condition. Front seats had just a bit of wear. Paid $4,000 for it and it has everything but leather and a sun roof. I live in the Houston area, and a sun roof might be usable 3-5 days per year.
It had a salvage title, but only because the front bumper needed replacing. Now has a good title and the repairs were made before I bought.
Bought it off craigslist and had it inspected by a company that specializes in buyer inspections. Off a dealer lot, it would have cost at least $2,000 more.
i actually got an offer in the mail, to us, from a local dealer, wanting to buy our 2006 vehicle, as they are looking for several of our model to sell. tore it up.
