The Real Madrid winger scored 51 goals in 47 matches across all competitions in 2013-14, ending Lionel Messi’s four-year reign as world player of the year. Ronaldo has posted 252 goals in 246 appearances since joining the Spanish titans in 2009 — the primary reason he is, according to Forbes magazine, the world’s second highest-compensated athlete at more than $80 million ($52 million in pre-tax salary, $28 million in global endorsements).

He scored one minute after coming in. Germany is saved, for now.

USA can win tomorrow and advance, great result.

Congrats Germany and Ghana, great game to watch.

Too bad Muntari will miss the next game, he needs a rope to tie up his shorts as well.

I hope these players are okay.

If only Ghana wasn’t in our group, I would’ve rooted hard for them.

Makes the US win against them all that much better.

The US can get to the Round Of 16. No European team has ever won in South America.

But I don’t envy their prospects in the next round. We’re still three weeks away from July 13.

Switzerland’s Steve von Bergen was kicked in the face as well and had to go back to Switzerland because of a fractured cheekbone.

Germany and Ghana traded blows in a pulsating 2-2 tie in Forteleza on Saturday. The result leaves Germany at the top of Group G with four points from two games; a win for the United States against Portugal in Manaus tomorrow would give the Americans sole possession of top spot.

There’s a lot of voodoo in Ghana too. That picture seems to speak of that a bit too. Yes, he appears a bit effiminate.

Looks more down to earth in these other pictures:

Western Africa is where the best Subsaharan African football/soccer is generally played but Nigeria and Ivory Coast, guys like Drogba look real muscular.

While the Ghana team looked very fast but in ways, seemed shorter and leaner, I even looked up their heights a bit and it doesn’t look like they are as big as the Super Eagles or Elephants.

All of those countries are close to each other along with Togo as well who of course, produced Abedayor who is a big muscular guy, he’s at least half Nigerian.

I’m sorry for the hardship Nigeria has gone through, people shouldn’t go to a World Cup viewing over in that troubled part of the country I’d say. Something like that happened in Somalia too a few years ago I think.

Bosnia has had their problems, I don’t know how widespread the devastation was but I’d tip Bosnia to win this but would enjoy seeing Nigeria win.
