Amnesty at Free Republic?
Posted on 06/18/2014 8:50:05 PM PDT by Plutarch
Whoa, I've been banned at FR since...what was it, 2011?
I take a glance at FR to see if there are any interesting articles posted, and it says I have mail, which I don't think I had access to. No messages to me from FR. But when I go to post, no more rude comment informing me my posting privileges are revoked.
Was there a general amnesty or something? I was banned (apparently) for my stubborn backing of the the eventual 2012 GOP Presidential nominee.

My “smertfoan” loves to Odocowrecked everything for some reason.
Android 4.1 on that phone, it changes words on you if it doesn’t know the word you typed.
So you get done finger tapping on the screen and find that half your text is illegible because words were changed.
So you go back to fix it, and the stupid thing won’t let you.
It chops the sentence in half, displaces it, or erases words you didn’t even select.

How is that "rude"? If you were banned, it's nothing more than a statement of fact. Rude can mean coarse or brusque rather than discourteous. Eg a rude wind.

I’m not certain what mine speaks, but it often is best described as “Glitch”.

(I tried to negotiate a trade (like the gitmo swap) - Laz for a Zottee/Retread, but wasn’t successful. Unlike 0, the mods don’t negotiate. I think he’s only out for a week, tho ;)

Welcome back, Plutarch. I also fell victim to the
Massive Purge of early 2012. My crime was that I called out Noot Gingrich for the Wilsonian, FDR-worshiping, ObamaCare-loving Progressive that he is. In retrospect, I may have been slightly a bit out of line in expressing my fanatical distaste for Noot, especially when taking into consideration JimRob's feelings on the matter. However, I still make no apologies for my overall position on the Wilsonian, FDR-worshiping, ObamaCare-loving, Progressive, Beltway Insider.
Having said that, this is Jim's site, and I am but a guest here. So I took my banishment in stride, refrained from creating a new log-in handle, and waited it out. About six months later, I discovered my account had been reinstated without fanfare. I immediately FreepMailed Jim and thanked him for restoring my posting privileges.
Having said that, JimRob did issue a General Announcement regarding supporters of Mitt in the 2012 election cycle - specifically citing his past support of abortion-on-demand. In light of our current troubles, I regret that Romney was not elected in either of the past two elections. But Jim did lay down the law in advance.
Keep in mind that the fact you are now back here posting means that someone took pro-active action on your behalf. So I would highly recommend that you discard any bitterness and send Jim, Onyx, et al. a great big Thank-You letter for ending your sentence. And again, welcome back.

And conservatives don’t like to be needlessly attacked by arrogant jerks who don’t like something they say.
Right?

Since when do conservatives support liberals like Romney and remain conservative?

A lot of conservatives who did not like Romney preferred him over the Commie-in Chief. Even JR came around and basically endorsed Romney.

A lot of the so called conservatives were trying to claim Romney was a conservative.
He was not, is not, never will be.
Actual conservatives knew that, and tried supporting a candidate that was a better choice.

JR ended up going with Romney. Are you saying JR is not a conservative?
