In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

skulduggery [skuhl-duhg-uh-ree]

hear it pronounced

noun

1. dishonorable proceedings; mean dishonesty or trickery: bribery, graft, and other such skulduggery.
2. an instance of dishonest or deceitful behavior; trick.

Origin: 1856, apparently an alteration of Scottish sculdudrie "adultery" (1713), sculduddery "bawdry, obscenity" (1821), a euphemism of uncertain origin.

Related forms:

Alternate spellings: skullduggery, sculduggery, scullduggery.

Plural: skul•dug•ger•ies.

Sorry about being late tot he party.

I see Obastard is us to his usual skullduggery with pulling the trademark right from the Washington Redskins. I think they should change the name in his honor to the Washington Thinskins. Stopping here because anything else I would add would get me banned.

Being Jewish and growing up in NYC (the Bronx), I am very familiar with Yeshiva University. I didn’t realize they were in the Madoff crapper. And it looks like their other investments didn’t do well either. Odd, for my people. :)

Clearly, the biggest problems this country faces are global warming (I mean “Climate Change”), prejudice against the transgendered, and the nicknames of football teams.
