The shots are no good - I had the shots as a child and then contracted pertussis about 10 years ago. It is a horrible disease and lasted for about 6 months before just going away.

Just a few days ago, we had a new little cousin born. The doctor put out orders no one was to see the baby unless they got the shot. Just stop in on the way to mom's hospital room and get vaccinated! Excuse me, I didn't just fall off the turnip truck so checked the CDC website which clearly states the vaccine doesn't become effective for two weeks. Now here's this article showing the shot doesn't work. Makes one wonder who's getting kickbacks from the vaccine manufacturer. Smells like another TX Gov. Perry and his Gardasil vaccine buddy.
