Nice! the early season was wearing me out with the weather delays/possible delays.
Beautiful here too; we had a bit of a cold weekend. 6 am on Monday was 41 degrees, chilly! Then back to mid 80s today with mid 50s at night.
But, not bad yet for June.
Dan Gilbert (Quicken) is dumping a lot of money into promoting races lately. He was one of the main sponsors of the Detroit Grand Prix last week as well.
The road course is still there but unused.
I guess it never really shows up on tv.
I haven't been up there in decades.
I once saw an old movie about racing where the Skipper from Gilligan’s Island was a driver and one of the races he raced was the road course at Michigan.
Former NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield's 2009 drug suspension and lawsuit against NASCAR still has plenty of people scratching their heads.
And it's a story that Mayfield hopes is not over as he attempts to resume his racing career. Mayfield will sit down with Sporting News writer Bob Pockrass for an interview at 1:00pm/et on Wednesday June 11. But this will be different than Mayfield's past interviews with Sporting News. This one will be streamed live. Fans can hear Mayfield's story in his own words and make their own decisions about how they view the former NASCAR star. The only driver to openly fight his suspension over a violation of the sport's substance-abuse policy, Mayfield remains suspended from all NASCAR activity. More info at Sportingnews.com and check out Mayfield's website.(6-11-2014)
For 35 years, Humpy Wheeler was racing's best salesman and track operator. He was a creative and fearless risk taker, willing to stick his head in a tiger's mouth to publicize races at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He and track owner Bruton Smith made each other fabulously wealthy before Wheeler abruptly "retired" after a serious argument with Smith in 2008. Even though his Speedway Benefits company now works exclusively with short tracks around the country that hold weekly races, Wheeler still keeps a close eye on NASCAR. See full Q&A at AutoWeek.(6-11-2014)
Yes, this whole deal is bizzaroworld for sure. Did You see the video awhile back where He says this whole mess started when He outted Everham for “Doing” Erin Crocker while still married?
That is when all this mess started according to Jeremy.
He also says that there are Drivers that do drugs and never get tested because they are “too important to NASCAR”
when people fight as aggressively as Mayfield is fighting, I would really hope that they are innocent. but that article you posted with the timelines - damn, just damn.
Allmendinger got nailed for Adderall also I think.
I know college kids call it the “breakfast of champions” but I’m not at all sure how it affects the skills needed to drive well.
Big wreck LeMans practice, appears no SAFER or tirewall
ICBI, I believe Junebug is third in the standings....the “Rainbow Warrior” is top....which sucks BTW...almost as much as SgtBob’s Privates;-)
