Weezer drummer Patrick Wilson showed his multitasking skills during a performance on Friday night in St. Augustine, Florida.
Midway through their 2005 hit "Beverly Hills," a floating Frisbee (thrown by a fan we presume) crossed the stage.
Wilson casually reaches up, fields the Frisbee and places it in his mouth before eventually discarding it next to his kit - all without missing a beat
Needless to say, the crowd went wild.
One excited fan posted a video of the incident on Instagram and Twtter to which Weezer singer Rivers Cuomo gave a shout out to, tweeting that this is "one more reason Patrick Wilson is my favorite drummer in the world :)"
oh no it go it gone bye bye
Big deal. About the simplest beat I’ve ever seen for a “rock” song. I mean if Neil Peart or Carl Palmer did it...
The singer is looking around thinking “why is everyone cheering?”
Mostly because he dated the lead singer from Lush (their song El Scorcho is about her)
Oh, Miki, you're so fine...
The pocket us too important to a band!
He isn’t the bassist anymore. The current bassist is married to a girl I knew in high school.
Lush was an awesome band until after “Split.” “Gala” was probably one of my favorite albums as a teen, but Velocity Girl’s Sarah Shannon was more my type.
Uhh, cool would have been to use the frisbee to whack the drum and then sail it back into the crowd.
Wanna bet that at their next concert, they get bombarded with a gazillion frisbees....
No bet there, that’s a sure thing! LOL!
Ugh. Been a drummer for 50 years. Neil Peart and Carl Palmer do not play rock and they are not in rock bands. They are soloists. Kind of like fancy tap dancers. Wow. Look how fast and complicated I play! Within their ensembles everyone just solos the whole time. The showmen in these ensembles do not really play together.
In contrast, watch John Bonham play Moby Dick on youtube. The guy turns fancy boys like Peart and Palmer into dust. His solos are musical and listenable, and then he gets down into the funkiest groove and plays “with the band.” Get it? I didn’t think so. Oh yeah, and Gary Lee (yes, it’s Gary) sings like a munchkin.
I don't entirely disagree. I also think Ringo Starr is underrated. I get that you hate Rush. That's fine. But this Weezer guy still sucks. And btw, I have been a drummer for 40 years.
This was pretty good. I liked the fact that the drummer caught the frisbee.
