Something Ate This Shark... But What? (Something Enormous Ate a Very, Very Big Great White Shark)

A group of marine biologists off the coast of Australia tagged a healthy great white shark. Then, a few months later, the tag washed ashore. When researchers analyzed data from the tag, they were confronted with a mystery that was deeply weird, and slightly terrifying.
In this video, we learn what the researchers found on the tag. A few weeks after tagging, the shark appears to have been abruptly dragged down into a deep ocean trench, then eaten. The tag remained in the digestive system of the animal that ate it for several days. Whatever animal it was seemed to be bobbing to the ocean surface once in a while, though it never plunged as deeply as it had after it ate the shark.
What kind of deep-dwelling alpha predator did this? Obviously it's very possible that the shark's tag was eaten, but that still leaves us wondering what could bite a hunk off a shark, then zoom down to an incredible depth and back up again? This video is a reminder of how little we actually know about shark behavior and deep sea life.

So the next time you are about to be eaten by a great white, all you need to do is to grab it and flip it upside down and hold it still for about 5 minutes.
Yea sure, I'll do that right after I smack him on the nose.
That is IF I have any arms left to grab him with.

Remember reading many years ago about a group of researchers looking for sea serpents (They suspected sea snakes 200 feet or better in length do exist).
They were in the Pacific I believe and at night they would bait a hook made out of harden steel 4-5 feet long tied to a steel cable, attached to a heavy duty winch.
One night they felt the boat lurch and they began running the winch back in.
When they got to the hook, it had been straightened.
Wish I could remember which magazine the article was from, thinking maybe 20-30 years ago.
They had no idea what in the ocean could possibly straighten their special made, indestructible hook.

If we spent half the money we spent on space exportation to get to know the Ocean depths we would know what did it.
They spend billions on theories when it comes to space while never really getting the answers they desire.
Spend the money instead on the depths and we would be ten times the better off for it.

Yes, I tried to get it changed, but it fell upon deaf ears with the mods. I even forgot to post the link to the video.

So the next time you are about to be eaten by a great white, all you need to do is...I hear tell bang-sticks are mighty effective. Wear an ESDS to make sure to give the shark pause before it taste-tests you, that should give you enough time (apparently this happens even if the ESDS is tied to raw bloody meat, doesn't save it of course but throws the shark off).
Of course bang-sticks are highly illegal. Call them gas generator safety modules instead.

I saw this and really thought everyone would find it interesting. I do!
How deep did it go the first time, at high speeds? My first thought was Orcas, but I don't know if they dive that deep. I think sharks can. Probably another, bigger shark?
Maybe ... Godzilla!

Also it was determined (dont ask me how) that this 9-ft shark was killed and eaten by a 16-ft great white. It happens.... That makes sense.
