Personally, I doubt Bill Clinton would recognize the voice of God even if accompanied by peals of thunder and trumpet fanfare.

The words that Bill will hear from God won’t be pretty.

Being a writer myself, maybe it’s just me, but I was never that impressed with her work.

Really, Bill?

God has already spoken through the OT and the NT. Everything I’ve read from Maya has some issues with the Word. How about you?

She was black and chronically indignant about that, that is all it takes to gain fame anymore.

The First Lady of the Unites States of America should have been with the president at the 70th anniversary of D-Day, not at a funeral.

Yes indeed. Writing at this level isn’t about concrete imagery, conflicts, theses, painting new pictures, or challenging the status quo:
Poetry at this level is about affirming the righteousness of the government elite.
Pushkin... Mayakovsky... Whitman even, of whom I was never fond... Certainly Plath, Stevens, some new poets like Austin LaGrone, Richard Meier, Nicky Beer... The real “radicals” in verse, these are the thoughtful people whose analysis might be worthwhile. Alas I’m not a poet but I’m pretty sure that those who insult the “made men,” like Angelou, get whacked.

“She was black and chronically indignant...”

I wonder if there are any non-black poets that our FLOTUS would champion.

What’s that definition of racism again?

I’m not a writer and I always thought her “poetry “ was truly awful prose. She ‘s just another “success “ of affirmative action.

She was a prostitute and madam who exploited other young girls and women.

She said herself she was "not ashamed" of that. We all sin - but she refused to ask God for forgiveness.

The rock, the river, and the tree cried out together in a loud voice, saying please don't recite the poem ever again. It was terrible.
