Oh, no. It went the way of all things.

TV tube went tango-uniform, then we pulled it out and shoved a smaller TV in there - independent of the console controls (talk about ghetto!!!) and then the stereo went, the radio, and all it was was a hunk of furniture with electronics that didn’t work.

We chucked it sometime in the early 80s.

Heavy as hell, I remember lifting it with a couple buddies. The wood wasn’t that laminated veneer crap; it was solid hardwood.

Mom was not happy to see it go though... she got attached to things.

When we sold the house, my Mom still had an old broken console-ish contraption (broken) in the basement; some dude gave $50 for it when we had a yard sale. Better than me having to haul it out (also not laminated veneer, but solid hardwood) and hope the garbage men took it.
