At that age, sometimes “you” may have cancer, but they don’t operate because it won’t prolong your life and the surgery/treatments can be more harmful than good.

I’ve heard recently that the new stance on prostate cancer in older persons is to just leave it alone...they’ll go before the cancer has a chance to kill them.
One of our lecturers made an interesting claim once. It was along the lines that even cancer slows down as you get older. I got no cite to give you, it were an off the cuff remark during a lecture on tumor growth patterns, but never forgot it.
