Congratulations, Mr. President! And identical congrats to your sorcerer’s apprentice, National Security Adviser Susan Rice. By trying to sell him as an American hero, you’ve turned a deserter already despised by soldiers in the know into quite possibly the most-hated individual soldier in the history of our military.
I have never witnessed such outrage from our troops.
Exhibit A: Ms. Rice. In one of the most tone-deaf statements in White House history (we’re making a lot of history here), the national-security advisor, on a Sunday talk show, described Bergdahl as having served “with honor and distinction.” Those serving in uniform and those of us who served previously were already stirred up, but that jaw-dropper drove us into jihad mode.
But pity Ms. Rice. Like the president she serves, she’s a victim of her class. Nobody in the inner circle of Team Obama has served in uniform. It shows. That bit about serving with “honor and distinction” is the sort of perfunctory catch-phrase politicians briefly don as electoral armor. (“At this point in your speech, ma’am, devote one sentence to how much you honor the troops.”)

This administration was “blindsided” because of a lack of intelligence coupled with poor impulse control. No amount of experience could or can cure their problems.(Recall their continuing bungling, the list grows ever longer.) It is only hoped that the American public as learned NOT to elect such people again.
One would think, though he’s in Obama’s employ, SecDef Hagel, a former Army staff sergeant, would’ve had major misgivings about trading five high-value Taliban figures for one low-value Taliban sympathizer. Perhaps he did, and was told to shut up, or he’s just so “turned” he just didn’t care.
The American public is probably so incensed they'll give Hillary a mandate in 2016 to clean up this mess.
Yes, desertion is no biggie today and sleeping on watch on the front lines of a war is also no biggie. Our soldiers should be more like pajama boy.

This administration’s lack of wisdom is stunning. They made 20 or more fatal mistakes that most 10 year-olds could have avoided.
He has been pushing the edge of the envelope in testing the stupidity of the American public for the last six years and until now the public's capacity for stupidity has seemingly been infinite.
Now it appears that the public's capacity for stupidly while admittedly vast , is finite with limits and Obama’s constant and aggressive pushing the boundaries of stupidity may have pushed them over those limits
That may have changed and if Obama has finally crossed the line and overestimated the stupidity of the American people, he is in big trouble.
Susan Rice is so stupid that:
- when she filled out her job application at the state department when filling in emergency contact she put 911.
- she got fired at the M&M factory for throwing away all the W’s.
- when she watches 60 Minutes it takes her two hours to do it.
I so wished the 1st Marine Battalion would surround the White House and promptly remove the POS occupant.
Oh wait, he’s missing in action somewhere on the other side of the earth. Pffft...
Hagel is a bumbling idiot and was chosen as Secdef for that very reason. Between him and Rice our national security is in the hands of idiots.
Make no mistake..they are usefull idiots who will speak the party line no matter how incredible it is.
The regime is trying to create and anti-war hero martyr that will be a good spokesman for the left..plus a distraction from other scandals.
They aren’t afraid of the back lash..they are already just calling it right wing extremism and that will soon become the talking point that they and the MSM will hit on.
