The findings revealed that cat lovers scored significantly higher on intelligence tests compared to their dog-loving counterparts. However, dog owners tend to be more energetic, obedient and outgoing than cat lovers, according to Live Science.
Researcher Denise Guastello, a psychology professor at Carroll University, said at an annual Association for Psychological Science meeting in Chicago, that the average cat owner is more reserved, perceptive, tolerant and better at breaking rules than the average dog owner.

I like dogs and cats but I have cats. I have been self-employed my whole life and cats suit my lifestyle I think it must be easier to have a dog if one has regular work hours. Perhaps those who live less structured lives prefer less structured creatures, not so needy.
I have never purchased a cat. Feral cats come around, I feed them, they become domesticated. They sit on my lap when I am outside. I used to let one in the house but she was clawing my leather couch, so now she is outside with two others. They can do fine if I have to go away on business for a day or so. Humans do not need to eat every day if they have water, and cats do not need to, either.
They can always catch some bug or rodent if they are hungry, It would tug at my heartstrings if I had some needy dog at home waiting forlornly for my return.

I knew you had to have at least one redeeming quality.
Beautiful pics!
“Cat Owners Have Higher IQs”
Only because my cat homeschools me.
That’s funny. My cats lick my face (yeck!) and bring me back toys I threw for them, or even those I didn’t. You just want a Step ‘N Fetchit pet vs. one that knows it is clearly superior! LOL
Um. Am quite certain that at least several decorated and kill-credited fighter pilots are cat lovers. Kinda doubt that these gents are low on testosterone! {^)
On the other hand, the older I get, the more I like dogs as well.
Very nice!
Man, those are some cool videos!
I’m getting testosterone lessons from someone w the screen name “Finny”?
LOLOLOL!! Cats are natural-born human behavioral specialists. I watched one methodically, patiently, firmly train a human with an IQ in the high 140s, to her preferred feeding time (morning) and as well when to remove himself from his studio for (actually smart and healthy) work breaks in the afternoon (so she could have his seat for a beauty nap).
It was the most amazing thing to observe!
No. You’re hearing common sense anecdotal reality from someone with the screen name “Finny”! :^)
Do you have an ex that had a cat?
LOLOL!! Bump!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed our cat pictures. We have quite a collection- from alley cats to exotic purebreds- and I love them all! (You have to scroll down a ways on the home page to get to the cats)

Lizzy doesn’t think much of my IQ.
When she wants out she’ll stretch up and tap at the door knob.
“Yeah, you’ll need to catch hold of this thing right here...”
