Round Rock police shot and killed a dog Friday inside its owner's home. The owner was at work when it happened.
Russell Lane says he got an alert that his alarm system was going off this morning. Minutes later his neighbor called saying shots had been fired inside his home.

I think you did fine. You didn’t ask the cops to actually come to your house, but merely to report the threat.
Don’t worry, you didn’t do wrong. Maybe we can change that to “usually” hmm????
SANCTUARY HOME: UNDOCUMENTED MIGRANTS ON PREMISES
The jbts will go away.
Wonton killing!!! oh noooooooo!!!! (said in my best Mr.Bill voice) Is that killing of wontons or with wontons??????
/LOL
Maybe they thought the perps have started bringing their own dogs to help them commit crimes. So the barking of the dog was thought to be a warning to the crook so Mr. Johnny Law took him out if the equation...
And the shots go on.......

Russell later walked KXAN through his home and mapped out what happened.
They said they came in and said Round Rock Police, Round Rock Police, they said
they cleared this room, they cleared this room. My dog still hadnt moved at that
time, because hes a real gentle dog, Russel said. They said they got here and
one officer turned and looked to this room he looked this way and my dog was standing
up on the futon
and they said at that time he jumped off the futon and they shot
him seven, they shot him seven times, hitting him five times. But ironically,
if they shot him here, theres two bullet holes at the bottom of the baseboard
where he usually lays.
...
Round Rock Police commander Jim Stuart said the dog was barking and growling
before lunging at an officer.
One of the officers fired a single shot; the second officer fired six rounds. Stuart
said the dog kept coming at them after being shot the first time.
At some point, this is going to boomerang. The sooner the better.

Only seven shots? This jack-boot showed remarkable restraint.
(For a jack-boot)
Usually, they empty their magazines on their targets. And then reload and shoot some more.
I can hear the dispacter now...All Units we just got a report of a dog home alone...
Twenty patrols respond “In-Route to Scene”
The joke about Round Rock is visit on vacation leave on probation..
LOL! Did I kill all the wontons instead of chastising the wanton killing of the poor puppies by the JBTs? [blush] My bad. ROFG! (giggling)
Please don’t call the spelling police on me! ;-)
^THIS!^
Because the police chiefs *don’t mind their men killing house dogs*.
*IF* they found it abhorrent, they would not defend their men, and would have them arrested accordingly.
You have to be a Police Dog to be granted special privilege.

POLICE OFFICER ADMITS TO SHOOTING AND KILLING PET CAT
As much as I am a dog person, those who like/tolerate/serve Da Ebil Kittehs are not immune to government thuggery simply because their choice of companion/pet/evil overlord is feline.
Hubby argues over my signs all the time.
I -want- to announce the presence of Dobes in the house.
I -want- to announce armed and edgy occupants.
I -want- to announce that everything is being video recorded 24/7 so that I have a massive burden of proof, just in case somebody’s stupid enough to ignore the first two signs.
He says I’m inviting cops to come in blazing.
I think they would, anyway, should they ever come here for some reason.
I no longer believe in ‘the system’ and now it’s *all* a lose/lose proposition.
There has always been ambiguity about dog signs.
The law thinks you should be responsible and warn people, yet warning people can make you responsible for bites because “you knew your dogs are dangerous”.
Catch 22.
Maybe I should take advantage of the all-too-common snake phobia and put up a “Warning: Attack Boas!” sign up, too.
In for a pfennig, in for a pound.
:-\
Or to sit up and beg for their lives...
Not really. If they kill a police dog, it’s nothing.
If you kill a police dog, you’re a murderer.
Which is, in essence, the same attitude slave owners had toward slaves-—the same dehumanization is being replayed in a new and twisted fashion.
Put up a Warning: Snakes Have Problem Solving Intelligence” sign up.

I hear your snakes are cold blooded killers, the lot of them. A terror to the mild-mannered rodentia population.
