Um...are y’all NUTS? This “kid” assaulted an adult! So do we now support “slapping” someone who does something we don’t care for??
There was nothing preventing the kid from using his words and saying “Please don’t wheel me, I got this.” but instead his first thoughts were that it was ok to swing on an adult in authority.
This “kid” is a special needs kid. Yes they sometimes to this. Is why I asked where his aide was. My best friend has to have an aide for her high school son because he has trisomy 21 and can’t to from class to class without one. Some special needs kids, even in high school have to have diapers changed. This kid being in a wheel chair more than likely is one of those kids. Either that or an aide has to take him to the bathroom.
I know there is more to this story and more will develop.
Obviously, you know nothing about cerebral palsy.
The child is not a paraplegic. He has motor skills deficits (pretty obvious, since he is in a wheelchair) due to brain damage (hence the "cerebral" part of cerebral palsy). All motor skills will be effected, including speech.
Depending on the individual, this student may be unable to speak at all, or able to speak but be difficult to understand.
