NYS 1962 - I had to have a blood test before we could get married...for syphilis I believe. I don’t believe my hubby had to have one.
Time for mandatory testing of males any time they step in a doctor’s office, clinic, emergency center.

IIRC everyone had to take and have a negative Wasserman before marriage.
