Let’s assume the researchers chose this area to study because they had some previous experience with, and exceptional interest in, the phenomenon they chose to study. Let’s assume, as well, that someone among the lead researchers had to understand the subject matter well enough to lead a discussion about the choice of material the study subjects were to watch, and then review the material in detail to make sure it met strict research criteria. (Only such a prospective study, BTW, would be likely to prove causality, not mere correlation.)
If so, we can assume that these researchers had shrunken striatum as well, and that their research, therefore, must have been conducted by men who were stupid.
