British women are officially the fattest in Europe. Well, hoorah for us. Of all the labels we could have picked up – the drunkest, the laziest, the most promiscuous – this one can't be that bad, can it?
And what about those people who actually choose to be fat? A growing group of overweight activists claim it's OK and healthy to be overweight. Fat activism, as they call it – yes that's a thing now – is about recognising that all bodies are fine. Nowadays, the 'fat movement' is all about challenging prejudices.
Except, we should be worried. Accepting obesity is just as bad, in my book, as accepting 'skinny'. Both are more often than not unhealthy. Both conditions also often lead to the people concerned being unhappy

In all seriousness, there has been, for some time, plenty of supposedly hetro men out there that consider something like (my favorite example) Marylin Monroe to be, and I quote, “A fat pig”.
Read the comments on some of the sites like Funny Junk or Cheezburger.com when you see a pic there of a non aneorexic boy body. So when the media says “fat” they could well mean what most people see as normal.
Because they started to eat more like Yanks.
