Jefferson had the vision of the country and he took giant steps to implement that. He was a great mana and a great president.
I remember JFK’s quote when he had some of his cabinet and advisors at the dinner table. “This is the most brain power we’ve had in this room since Thomas Jefferson dined alone.”
Everything you say is correct. I’m just saying that Jefferson’s policy in regards with trade with Europe nearly ruined the country economically, and it was self imposed. A mistake of this magnitude should not be rewarded with a high ranking.
