Microsoft might be preparing to give the public its first taste of Windows 9 between the second and third quarters of 2015, according to a newly leaked document.
Tech blog Myce has obtained a leaked internal Microsoft document from a source in China known as FaiKee.
The document, first spotted on Myce's website by Windows blog WinBeta, lists both Windows 9 and Windows Phone 9 as scheduled for a release preview between Q2 and Q3 2015.
Here's a screenshot of the document:
A release preview is exactly what its name suggests. It's a nearly finished version of the software that the public gets to mess around with before the official launch.

I replied, "WTF am I now? Everything MS has is in "Beta."
If they’re committed to “one user experience” and “Metro” that means Windows 9 will still have a touchscreen interface on a desktop or laptop computer. That was the fundamental error in Windows 8. The two user experiences are quite different and cannot successfully be forced into one, no matter how pretty it looked to Ballmer in a Powerpoint presentation four years ago.
Sounds fake (faikee) to me.
Windows 8 on the desktop mode placed side by side with windows 7 = same
The new versions always seem to build on the mistakes of the old.
Same with me, although I had my Win 7 computer fixed, there are still some things Win 7 does better or Win 8.1 can’t seem to do yet.
Tech “journalism” has devolved into nothing but click-bait headlines based on meaningless “leaked” info with a faulty premise of “[fixing] A Lot Of Problems With Windows 8”...
[Which never explains what those problems are]
All to draw out the usual clown car of Linux, Apple, and XP users to see who can out-do each other in screaming about how terrible Windows 8 is and how what they use is so brilliant.
It almost makes MSNBC look like real news.
At least MS treats you more nicely (than the rest of us) if you’re an “official beta tester.” They do expect you to work for them by finding out where things are broken, but you’d probably do that anyway.
For a tech geek, it could be worth doing at least for one go-around.
The parties to which you can get invitations aren’t half bad (or at least weren’t some years ago).
HF
Then I wouldn’t like 7 either.
Have you tried classic shell and just use the desktop - works fine for me. There are issues that certainly need some work - like when a program opens from the metro side there is no way to shut it down other than through the task manager!!!
Have you seen (or worse attempted to communicate with) the latest Geek versions? (Geek 46.7)
I would party with them only after 15 minutes of artillery prep, TOT. In ye olden geek days, all that was needed was soap and water and maybe a toothbrush. Now they need Pine-Sol, Lysol, and a steam pressure washer (for the tattoos).
You could just swipe the screen to close the program.

They did tweak the kernel in windows 8, some tweaks for the better some for the worse...
[ Windows 9 ... Will Fix A Lot Of Problems With Windows 8Which fixed a LOT of problems with Windows 7.
Which fixed a LOT of problems with Windows Vista.
Which fixed a LOT of problems with Windows XP.
Which fixed a LOT of problems with Windows ME.
Which fixed a LOT of problems with Windows 98.
Which fixed a LOT of problems with Windows NT.
Which fixed a LOT of problems with Windows 95. Just can’t wait for my “fix.” ]
Microsoft = The Fix is in there....
Well they say only upgrade to every other Windows Release.
XP - Yes
Vista - No
7 - Yes
8 - No
9 - ?
They are not getting rid of Metro UI - the color tiles.
Dumbing down on stupid.
