Agree. The Soprano’s ending was just perfect. I was like everyone else when it happened and wondered if my cable had gone out :-) The combination of the song being played and the cinematography created a great amount of tension and then it just ended. Just like.....

Most of the ones I know that complain about the complaint is the island is never explained. They want to know how it works and why it works that way. My counter that is always one word: midichlorians. When Lucas explained The Force he made it boring, it went from being mysterious and mystical to parasites. The only explanation I need for Lost is “magic island”, anything else would almost certainly wind up being midichlorians.

I remember when Lost first started, that the chatter online was that the Island was purgatory, and people needed to work out something that they had failed to work out in life. I remember the producers of the show immediately quashed that idea; but, in the end, it seemed that the early predictors were right. It seemed that whenever a person came to terms with something in their lives, they "died" on the island. In truth, they were already dead, just cleaning up some unfinished business.

The subtext is that the little girl (born of a Cylon and a Caprican) is "Mitochondrial Eve", the woman from which all modern humans are believed to be descended. "And Bob Dylan's song "All Along the Watchtower" is over 200,000 years old.

If you want a breakdown as to all the clues Chase left behind as to Tonys fate, watch this. I never watched the series, but I remember the outrage over the sudden ending.
Thanks for the link to the deconstruction: it makes perfect sense.

I had a foreshadowing today. Is there any member of the firm who attended Marshall U?
