We still have NO idea why she was taken in the first place. Something had to have happened for this to be instituted. Government workers are notoriously lazy in the social work area especially. They are not just going to plop down and start taking a kid for no reason. Something is up.
Well, years ago, I had two uncles go to ‘teaching hospitals’ and get themselves all done up with new tests and experimental this and that. The one had black lung and mouth cancer, I think. He was a creepy man.
The other had lung cancer.
They both stayed at our family home, with my sainted mother caring for them, but it gave me the willies. We only had 1 bathroom, and they stayed by where the only TV was. I mostly remember how sick they were, and I remember hearing discussions about the need for all the things being done at the hospital.
I think my parents made sure to take me to see all the relatives that were dying of cancer, especially lung cancer, so that I would never take up smoking. It worked.
But I have lost my taste for teaching hospitals.
