According to the Christian Post Monday, megachurch, Westminster Presbyterian Church (This is a PCUSA church) in Greensboro, NC will be without a senior pastor because of his recent admittance to having an affair for the entire nine months he has been the pastor. “ Weaver apologized in a letter to the Salem Presbytery: I have violated my ordination vows and my wedding vows," the 33-year-old Weaver confessed in the letter, which was mailed to the congregation on Friday by the Salem Presbytery, the regional governing body for local Presbyterian (U.S.A.) churches. "I am sorry and I ask your forgiveness.”

IMO 33 years old is too young for a senior pastor.

Our Methodist system is itinerant with many smaller churches having only one pastor who is called the senior pastor. As they learn, and as there are retirements, the younger will move "up" (if qualified) to a slightly larger church, and the recently ordained new young will replace them in their entry level church. There's some decent logic for it, but it is hard on churches, and just about dooms them to tread water.

Is there such a thing as a truly gifted and spirit-filled 33 year old who has the maturity to senior pastor a large church with a large multi-pastor staff? It would be the exception, so for the most part, I'm in agreement with you.

Since this is PCUSA, my guess is that some higher up was fast-tracking this young pastor, and his sexual promiscuity suggests a reason why.
