Yes, saw video on the LSM news last night. Had to rewind and slow mo it, but yes, that was a DC-10. Not surprising really. Evergreen Aviation out of Wa. Converted a 747 for fire duty. It uses canisters loaded with retardant that they shoot out under pressure. Or something like that.

CalFire uses Dc-10’s. I saw one in action last year in Lake Elsinore. I checked all the major news sources and couldn’t find a duplicate so from the picture quality I’d say it was taken with a cheap cell or instamatic type snapshot camera.

That is a real shot from a year or so ago I think.
In any case tanker pilots have brass balls. I have seen them do stuff over the years that is simply amazing.
Saw one here in Reno stand the plane on it’s side and literally throw the load onto a house that was about to be consumed. Saved the house.
