Also spent some time yesterday helping Mrs. Augie fix up her flowerbed. The chickens had taken it over for their digging/dusting spot and just making a wreck of it. Weed cloth and lava rock took care of that. It was quite entertaining watching them try to figure out what to do with the lava rock.
My birds just kick all the rock out of their way and continue doing what they want. I have a short path out my back door that I laid a base of 51/50 rock on, and they still move it.
Cool pictures. Love the deck. We have never had any weeds in our strawberry plants. We do plant them very close together.
Our first patch was a square about 8ft x 8ft. Now we have two of those round pyramid style patches. One we bought from a seed catalog. The other hubby built for a heck of a lot less money.
We cover them with straw when the weather gets cold, and take it off in the Spring.
