Ever try lining a garden box with 1/4" galvanized chicken wire to keep them out?
Here where I live I have to build garden boxes lined with it or I'll be growing vegetables for the gophers and voles instead of the dinner table.

Ever try lining a garden box with 1/4" galvanized chicken wire to keep them out? It's a 12ft x 12ft raised bed that was built around a 3 ton pile of horse manure a few years back. It'll be difficult.
I was thinking about explosives ;)
