here's someone who tested the 40 grain V max against drywall. It looks like it would be pretty comparable to a shotgun for home defense-V-Max bullets started fragmenting within the first sheet of drywall and completely blew to pieces on their way out of the second sheet, leaving dramatic craters. The fragmentary nature of the round at high velocity would be absolutely devastating at close range IMO. Shot placement would be largely irrelevant.

I have built a backstop for a range in my garage. I’ve been testing the 60 grain Aguila super subsonic. Yes they keyhole from a 1911 .22lr GSG pistol, and yes they dig into the rubber mulch I use to catch the bullets. I’ve about decided that the round out of the very dependable GSG pistol is an idfeal home defense pistol round. I’ve gone ahead and altered the mags to hold fourteen rounds and am loading two mags with the 60 gr bullets, with two additional mags holding HV Federal hollow points. So far, no hiccups!
