I have built a backstop for a range in my garage. I’ve been testing the 60 grain Aguila super subsonic. Yes they keyhole from a 1911 .22lr GSG pistol, and yes they dig into the rubber mulch I use to catch the bullets. I’ve about decided that the round out of the very dependable GSG pistol is an idfeal home defense pistol round. I’ve gone ahead and altered the mags to hold fourteen rounds and am loading two mags with the 60 gr bullets, with two additional mags holding HV Federal hollow points. So far, no hiccups!

I use those in the AR. Very silent, the bolt is louder than the round with the flash suppressor. Fun to shoot.
Just remember to blow out the lead with a few .223 rounds after.
