Words regarding repentance and faith tend to rub everybody the wrong way. Why is that?

Indeed. When biblical texts and ideas are spoken in public and in accord with the Truth the reaction is visceral. Ephesians 6:12 tends to play out. The purpose and effect of Christ’s redemption extends to all of creation, the Word being a two-edged sword that cuts to the quick. No one really “wants” to be crucified, so these things are spoken as men believe and are moved by the Holy Spirit to speak the “good confession,” that God is in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. “Blessed are you . . . for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father.” This is way more substantial and potent than anything Hollywood will ever produce with all their mimicry.
