I am amazed that the cat still had its collar on 3 years later! My cats lose theirs at least every few months or maybe as long as a year.
But the cat came back the very next day...
The Cat Came Back
Old Mr. Johnson had problems of his own.
He had a little cat that just wouldn’t leave his home.
He tried and he tried to give the cat away.
He gave it to a little man going far far away...
But the cat came back the very next day.
Yes, the cat came back. They thought he was goner
But the cat came back. He just wouldn’t stay away.
He gave it to a little boy with a dollar note.
He told the boy to take the cat up river on a boat.
The boat turned over and was never found,
And now they drag the river for the little boy who drowned...
But the cat came back the very next day.
Yes, the cat came back. They thought he was goner
But the cat came back. He just wouldn’t stay away.
The man around the corner said he’d shoot the cat on sight.
He loaded up his shotgun full of nails and dynamite.
He waited... and he waited... ‘till the cat came walking round
And ninety-seven pieces of the man was all they found...
But the cat came back the very next day.
Yes, the cat came back. They thought he was goner
But the cat came back. He just wouldn’t stay away.
The H-bomb fell the very next day.
The A-bomb fell in the very same way.
Russia went! England went! And then the USA.
The entire human race was left without a chance to pray...
But the cat came back the very next day.
Yes, the cat came back. They thought he was gone,
But the cat came back. He just wouldn’t stay away.

Genre: Rock
Now old Mr. Johnson had troubles of his own,
He had a yellow cat that wouldn’t leave his home,
He tried and he tried to get that cat away,
Gave it to a man going far away.
But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
But the cat came back, just wouldn’t stay away.
Now the man around the corner swore he’d kill the cat on sight,
He loaded up his shotgun with nails and dynamites,
He waited and he waited for the cat to come around,
Ninety-seven pieces of the man is all they found.
But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
But the cat came back, just wouldn’t stay away.
Gave it to a little boy with a dollar note,
Told him for to take it up the river in a boat,
They tied a rope around its neck it must’ve weighed a pound,
Now they drag the river for the little boy it’s drowned.
But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
But the cat came back, just wouldn’t stay away.
Gave it to man going up in a balloon,
Told him for to take it to the man on the Moon,
The balloon came down about 90 miles away,
Where he is now, I dare not say.
But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
But the cat came back, just wouldn’t stay away.
They gave it to a man going way out west,
Told him for to take it to the one he loved the best,
First, the train hit the curve, then it jumped the rail,
Not a soul was left behind to tell the gruesome tale.
But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
But the cat came back, just wouldn’t stay away, away, away, away.
Away across the ocean he did send the cat at last,
Vessel out alone today taking water fast,
People all began to pray the boat began to toss,
A great big gust of wind came by and every soul was lost.
But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
But the cat came back, just wouldn’t stay away.
On a telegraph wire, sparrows sitting in a bunch,
The cat was feeling hungry, thought she’d like them for a lunch,
Climb softly up the pole, when she reached the top,
Put her foot in the electric wire, which tied her in a knot.
But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
But the cat came back, just wouldn’t stay away.
Now the cat was a possessor of a family of a own,
With seven little kittens and along came a cyclone,
Blew the houses all apart and tossed the cat around,
The air was full of kittens and not a one was found.
But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought she was a goner,
But the cat came back, just wouldn’t stay away, away, away, away,
Just wouldn’t stay away.
What a nice story.........
Two days later, the cat shows up at my lanai. After the First lady fed him, and I changed the dressing, I now have a cat. His name is "tiger."
Sorry to hear of your ordeal, life sucks doesn't it?..........
A number of years ago when I lived in an apartment there was a cat that appeared on the front porch which appeared to be hungry.
Having once had a cat, I still had some cat food and so I went upstairs and poured some into a cup and took it downstairs to give to the apparently hungry cat.
When I got out there, I then noticed that the poor cat had a zip tie around it's neck that had obviously been placed on it when it was a kitten since the poor cat had grown into it to the point that it was being choked to death and its eyes were bulging out.
I then ran upstairs to get a pair of wire cutters but when I returned, the cat had gone and I never saw it again........
That broke my heart and it was then that I vowed that I would do anything in my power to prevent cruelty to any animals..........
Thank-you.
The story touched me, and since I was going to take it easy having had a busy day today.
GOD BLESS YOU, Hot Tabasco.
That is so horrible! Poor thing! How people can be cruel to animals, or people for that matter, is beyond me. A zip tie! Our 2 cats are rescues, as were our previous dog and cat, who are now both deceased. (They both had long, wonderful lives. We miss them immensely.)
