Penn State University located in State College, Pennsylvania is notorious for their seemingly bottomless pitcher of school spirit.
After all, students at the University are even tailgating their final exams. Complete with hot dogs and encouraging signs.
This photo from Onward State's Facebook page has been making the rounds this week:
Stephen Pianovich, pictured above, is graduating this May and masterminded the plan to tailgate a final.
It was on his senior year bucket list.
In an email to Business Insider, he said:
We got some confused looks from people walking and driving by, but nobody from the university or police told us we needed to stop. I guess I should have mentioned that this was a sober event. I think people see the word tailgate and think of boozing, but we didnt want to give anyone a reason to kick us off campus, so we made sure there was no alcohol there.
The crowd varied from about 20-30 people, so it wasnt too much of a ruckus, but enough to let people know we were tailgating a final. We cheered loudly again when [our friends] Ryan and Shane exited the exam and took a group picture.
I graduate this weekend and all semester my friends and I have been trying to do unique and fun things, and this was just another example of that. Is it going to become a Penn State tradition down the road? I certainly wouldnt mind seeing that, but who knows? I do know, however, that we made some memories and Im overjoyed we went through with it.

Mean-spirited and inappropriate. These students had nothing to do with the pervert.
Penn State, isn’t that where they had the big pedophile scandal with the football coaches?
The original poster continues to support Ped State and pretends nothing happened.
Basically he endorses pedophilia in favor of sports.
Me, I'm not cool with that.
It’s PENN State. Get it right there smelly.
Even if I were to accept your assertion about the poster as true, I cannot see how it relates to this particular post about young people who had nothing to do with the pedophile incidents.
My assessment remains: Mean-spirited and inappropriate.
I suggest that you not read posts from this FReeper if you are that obsessed about his views. Your nasty comments here are unbecoming.
"SMELL MY FINGER!"
If you read the posts of the person who posted this thread, you may feel differently. His screen name alone is an indication of his thinking.
You seem bored.
If I were obsessed, wouldn't reading his posts be my first priority?
I cannot see how it relates to this particular post about young people who had nothing to do with the pedophile incidents.
Well.. even though you may not be obsessed you could go and look
at his posts, going back a couple years.. and see how he excuses
or denies or minimizes Ped State's involvement with covering up
pedophilia and perversion.
But hey, that's too much trouble for you.
We should just be nice, huh?
My “thinking?” What crazy thinking is that? That someone who was never accused of a crime, who cooperated with, and was praised by the OAG, who never did a damn thing wrong, has his 61 year legacy stomped on and smeared by the likes of espn, louis freeh, the ncaa, corrupt b.o.t. members, and bumblehummer?
Crazy “thinking” there. You need to get a clue as well.
Continue as you will.
Never fear gunner, we've got your six o'clock, and the 3 and the nine, too.
Stay humble, my FRiends.
And that makes it all possible, I'll tell you what...
Please do not feed the troll. As worthless as mams on a bull. QED.
He’s a professional thread hijacker.
So you’re on record as supporting pedophilia.
And never, ever does he mentions the victims of Joe Paterno's inaction.
So two bad guys are going to make the other 95,000 members of the Penn State community guilty?
Makes no sense-—it’s like a small city.
