I think of a Blacker Shade of Darkness.
There are a few songs from that era that simply stand as unique jewels. This one of them.
The single was released on 12 May 1967
If my math is correct it will be 47 years old in 4 days
Also this song is RACIST!!!!!
Top of the charts the day I was born was House of the rising sun by the Animals.

when confronted with Boko Harem,
Hillary’s
face at first just ghostly.
turned a whiter shade of pale.

Another good one. I used to try to play that one on the guitar. I never was any good myself, but I aspired to be. :-) Back then I could play them on the radio, and now I play them on VLC.
I love the opening when they are running towards us in their belly bottom pants. They all look so slender and handsome in that romantic way of that time.
Another great song from their 1st album:

“Something Following Me”
My God, what an awesome article. I saved it.
An honest mistake by Hilary. She thought they wanted to ban Procol Harum.
For those who may like solo acoustic guitar. . .I think this version is worthy of a listen.

I like the version by Annie Lennox.
