In Washington, I’d believe it.
Trying to get traffic straightened out before a Nationals game, two members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department were directing traffic in semi-dark conditions, while wearing their very dark blue uniforms. I saw one police “officer” direct traffic such that one car would have run over the second distinguished /sarc/ member of the force if not for the better judgment of the driver.
