We did the exact opposite: Rolling Rock beer (green bottles/cans) wasn’t very popular, so we drove around with open containers of it, the cops just figured it was 7 Up. Don’t know how I made it to adulthood, unscathed, making decisions like that !

Those were the days when Rolling Rock was bottled right here in our own Westmoreland County with nice water from our Pennsylvania highland streams. Now it is bottled in New Jersey with recycled urine.

You must have grown up in a town where the cops were busier than mine.

My wife was surprised to learn that, in my youth, the term “road beer” was generally understood to be standard English.
