The place is nothing but portion control. I feel every time I eat there I am getting nickle and dimed, now this.

I concur however, I must give them some props. Panera has a great donation program where they give away all the bread left at close of business each day. Our church gets huge bags full of wonderful bread from the Saturday batch. I have a savory variety of artisan breads to eat all week long, for zip! I keep in in the fridge and replace it each week with fresh loaves before it has a chance to get stale, ahhh! Thanks P!

They're a huge success. They have some, not all, choices that are fine with my pure foods diet. Some of their food is high priced junk with vile ingredients.

I don't just feel the portion control; it's that sometimes they get careless about it and don't use full portions. $8 for a salad and then a drink of $3 is insane.

The only time I ate at Panera Bread turned me off completely. My sandwich was nothing but thick, chewy bread, with very little meat.

I have heard the coffee is excellent, though.
