You must be my age group. We had several girls in my high school with braces too.
I’ve often wondered if the girls( as opposed to boys) have something in their systems that makes them survive instead of dying of the disease.
Of course some famous men, like FDR and Alan Alda, have had polio so maybe it’s a coincidence.

A few years back, I had a client with a walker. How the conversation started, I don't know, but he said he missed the vaccine by 6 months.

I'm 70. I'm sure there are all kinds of stats around.
