Oregon State fired head coach Craig Robinson on Sunday night, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. In six seasons, Robinson went 93-104 with no NCAA tournament appearances. The Beavers went 16-16 last season and are losing all five starters from that team.
The biggest surprise of the firing of Robinson, the brother-in-law of President Barack Obama, comes with the timing. Oregon State's season ended six weeks ago with a loss to Radford in the CBI and Robinson had reportedly received support from Oregon State's administration. Robinson has three more years remaining on this contract and the university is expected to owe him more than $4 million.

I completely understand the reference, but I still have to agree with the statement, the OSU administrators were years late in this decision. I wonder why a coach with that record was left in place so long, could it be politics?

Lower expectations, perhaps. It is Oregon State, after all.
Even at that, the guy gets what a nine or ten year contract, was that after his one winning season? He then proceeds to oversee six losing seasons before someone says maybe we should make a change, Sounds a bit out there even for a state university.
By King O decree, Oregon State University will be converted into a conservative internment camp.
Why are there not performance clauses in those contracts?
Can’t another infusion of tax-payer funded largess to Oregon State courtesy of Sister Mooch’s stash save his sorry ass job again?
