RIP Efrem Zimalist Jr. you are now in the presence of the Lord. Glad to know you were a believer in Christ. Amazing he was 95, he lived a long life, what a blessing.

Strangely, [<sarc> tag for those who need that kind of thing] many of the obits are failing to mention that he was a staunch conservative who campaigned tirelessly for both Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan, and was a very close personal friend of the latter. Saw the two together at the Harrisburg International Airport after a campaign stop in 1980.

Thanks for posting this. Many years ago, I had a big crush on his daughter, Stephanie. Also, a few years ago, I gave a talk at an Episcopal Church in Encino. I learned that Mr. Zimbalist attended that church and that he certainly was a devout Christian. Shortly thereafter, I received an autographed picture of Stephanie from the bishop’s wife. Really neat and a nice surprise.

I had no idea he was still alive.
We watched “FBI” as a family every week.
Was it on Friday night?
He supported Barry Goldwater in 1964, which should endear him to readers of Free Republic.

When I was a kid, we used to sing, “77 Sunset Strip....pardon me, lady, I see your slip...”
That is top-notch humor when you are six years old.

His father, Efrem Sr., was one of the top violinists in the 1920s and later the director of Curtis Institute in Philly, and was one of the judges at Aeolian Hall in February 1925 when Paul Whiteman organized the "What is American Music?" competition, where 22 entries from American composers were debuted--#21 was George Gershwin's
Rhapsody in Blue. Jr. thought about following his father's footsteps, but decided he liked performing drama better than performing music--and the same thing happened to Jr's daughter Stephanie, who went to Juilliard but ended up on stage and screen, which she does to this day.
Efrem, after you lay your trophies at His feet, when you get a chance, say hello to my parents for me; they loved you in The FBI. Tell them He still has work for me here, but I'll be there when it's done.
