I'm curious. What was the total number of specialized bureaucrats who arranged the capture, transportation, and assessment of this scorpion? Did any of them give it a kiss? Yeah...the scorpions I’ve met - and I’ve met a lot in Arizona - REALLY get stressed out by humans moving them somewhere! Of course, when I do it, they have already been squished and their scorpion juices have squirted out their sides, so maybe they just seem stressed in that state.

Was hunting one day....and sat down waiting for Bambi's dad to come by. Realized I was sitting on a scorpion nest of babies....I killed them all. Never thought much of it....

In 1992 our little group put on a Living History Demonstration at Kennesaw Mountain NMP and camped in the rocks back in the woods. The next morning we woke to scorpions in our bed blankets, saddle blankets, in our clothes, in our saddle bags, haversacks, and cartridge boxes. After many careful examinations we saddled up to go to the demonstrations. While all of the men were dismounted showing skirmish firing, one of my troopers pulled a blank from his cartridge box that had one of the scorpions hanging on to it. With coolness and professionalism, he loaded the Sharps with the blank and scorpion and fired it.
