Hmmm. The scorpion is non-migratory. I wonder if it was carried by an unladen swallow?

In a saner time, the guy with a scorpion on his bag would simply have asked his fellow passengers to give his some space, shaken it off the bag and embedded it in the ground.
No more will be crawling 'round . . .
He's imbedded in the ground . . .
Boris the spider . . .
Wasn't that from a Brit rock song?

London Underground staff were quickly on hand. . . . Specialist wildlife crime officers from BTP went to the station to remove the creature. . . . I contacted London Zoo and made arrangements to take the animal there to be assessed. I'm curious. What was the total number of specialized bureaucrats who arranged the capture, transportation, and assessment of this scorpion? Did any of them give it a kiss? I doubt if they'd be so careful and considerate if they arrested someone for quoting Winston Churchill on the subject of Muslims.

The scorpion really is a beautiful animal and its a shame that it has been exposed to such a stressful situation.Appallingly insensitive of the authorities to fail to shut down and evacuate the tube station in order to spare the poor creature such terrible stress. /s

Good grief, what a bunch of pussies. In Texas when we see scorpions or tarantulas, we just squash’em and move on.

Yeah...the scorpions I’ve met - and I’ve met a lot in Arizona - REALLY get stressed out by humans moving them somewhere! Of course, when I do it, they have already been squished and their scorpion juices have squirted out their sides, so maybe they just seem stressed in that state.

In 1992 our little group put on a Living History Demonstration at Kennesaw Mountain NMP and camped in the rocks back in the woods. The next morning we woke to scorpions in our bed blankets, saddle blankets, in our clothes, in our saddle bags, haversacks, and cartridge boxes. After many careful examinations we saddled up to go to the demonstrations. While all of the men were dismounted showing skirmish firing, one of my troopers pulled a blank from his cartridge box that had one of the scorpions hanging on to it. With coolness and professionalism, he loaded the Sharps with the blank and scorpion and fired it.
