"With the remains in their possession, the team disguised themselves as fishermen and drove into the mountains, stopping at a cliff along a small stream. There, in a spot screened by trees, they lit two campfires. One was to make soup. The other, to further burn the remains.
Gumenyuk has called the second cremation a waste of a can of gasoline, but the remains were finally burned to ashes. They collected these in a rucksack, which Gumenyuk took onto the cliff and opened up into the wind. With that, one of historys greatest monsters disappeared, a brown cloud of dust in the wind.
Today, Gumenyuk is 73-years-old and retired from the KGB. He is the only surviving member of the team that disposed of Hitlers remains and the only living person who knows where the ashes were spread. Still afraid the peaceful woods would become a pilgrimage site, he has vowed to take his secret to his grave. Despite the large amounts of money hes been offered to reveal the location and the attention hes gotten for what he did, Gumenyuk doesnt seem to think his task was all that special. Twenty secondsand job was done, he told The Sun last year. It was just the last flight of the Führer. [H/T American Digest]

It was just the last flight of the Führer.
And good riddance.
Sounds like a crock to me. How does a 3 or 4 year old remember this stuff?
So, Hitler died about 70 years ago, this guy is 73 so he was 3 when when he did this? Or is this article an old one.
Read closer, you two.
if you read the article you’ll see that the events described were in 1970.
Thanks for the update. I, as a certified Freeper, did not read the article before posting. The math now makes sense.
reassuring that I’m not the only one who comments before reading the articles..
From what I remember, the French burned it and buried it, then the Russians dug it up, and burned it again! Haha
Ah! this happened in 1970. That adds up. Some time I am guilty of not clicking onto the site. My bad. But it would have been nice if the post was started with the words “In 1970”
I didn’t know that you could burn a human body to ash with a can of gasoline.
Heck, sometimes I have had a problem getting wet wood to finally ignite.
“...then the King dug him up, then burned him, he fell over and THEN sank into the swamp...but the fourth time...he stayed burned up! And THAT’S the Hitler corpse you are going to get, boy!”
In the photo it shows Eva Braun & Hitler and their dogs.
Dang shame about the dogs dying.
Without the aid of an incinerator, burning a body to ashes would be next to impossible. An open air fire without a large amount of fuel just does not get hot enough to burn flesh to ashes over a short period of time.
I hope someone took a leak on the smoldering ashes, no matter which burning event was Hitler’s last.
Hitler is still very much with us in the hearts of some 2 billion islamists.
