Having won the right to decide for themselves whether to join unions, Michigan workers are opting to desert an organization that many never wanted to join in the first place: the SEIU.
Michigan voters put an end to forced unionization by approving right-to-work in the 2012 election. Republican Gov. Rick Snyder also signed a bill that ended a fraudulent dues-skimming scheme, perpetrated by the SEIU, which had allowed the union to collect $34 million in mandatory dues out of the Medicaid checks of unknowing home-based caregivers.
No longer obligated to pay money to the SEIU, 80 percent of home-based caregivers have left the union

What’s wrong with the other 20%? Entrenched grifters? Or just stuck on stupid?
Nice.
I absolutely LOVE this! I dont’ agree with Governor Snyder on everything, but this was a HUGE win!
Most of those beneficiaries from this conservative action will still vote demoRat at election time. -—in Wi.why is Gov. Scott Walker slated for a tight race for all he’s done in actions to get that state on solid ground? Never ever underestimate the level of utter stupidity of many voters and their blind loyalty to their sacred ‘Rats. Ugjhhhhh.
Probably union leadership.
Woo Hoo!
So even in the heart of union country, workers realize how oppressive they are.
They're the top brass...or those aspiring to reach that level. You know...pinky rings....huge expense accounts....$100K/yr salaries....10 hour work weeks....no bedpans or night shifts....
or like most people, they just want something for nothing.
In Wisconsin people simply went apoplectic when Scott Walker signed Act 10 getting rid of mandatory unionization. Literally, hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets in protest, day after day. They collected 1 million recall signatures (from a state with a 5 million population).
In the end, Walker was reelected and the vast majority of the affected dumped the Union and never voluntarily re-joined.
To me this proves the point that the Unions are very, very good at agitating, much like any good Communist, but once the outside agitation was stopped and the bubble was burst most, except the hardcore Left, were left scratching their heads wondering what just happened here.
What will it take to make that revelation to the UAW?
More than likely they are part of corrupt union !
I’m afraid you are correct, but I’ll take any good news I can find.
Purely coincidental, I'm sure.
You might want to use modern maps.
Quite an exodus. The members truly voted with their feet.
