I first saw him in the UK TV series “Flickers” about the early days of movie making. Great actor, he’ll be missed.

I remember first seeing him in a Masterpiece Theater piece called "Flickers". Frances de la Tour was also in it. It was about the beginning of film production in England and I had found it quite enjoyable at the time. Always liked Bob Hoskins.

I always enjoyed him. I just took a look at his profile at IMDB and he worked A LOT. Averaged 3-4 films a years for at least 25 years.

One of the first movies I remember seeing him in was “Mona Lisa” where he drove a white MK2 Jaguar. Weird movie, but he was good in it.

Actually it isn’t an AMerican film, in fact they couldn’t get a studio in HOllywood interested in the idea.

One of the best British films ever made, regarded with Get Carter as the two best British gangster films of all time. And one of my fav films ever.
