I remember 1991. Seems like so long ago. But I remember it. Not that many people had computers and only the wealthy had cellphones - which were as big and heavy as bricks. I had totally different clothes back then. Even the underwear I wore is no longer in service today. In fact, I don't have much material possession at all from 1991. Maybe a few dusty books, CDs and a couple photo albums of pictures I never look at anymore.
Does anybody else remember 1991 and the song "Wind Of Change"?
One of the Best Ballads of many by the Scorps!
I remember. Great song about the fall of the Berlin Wall. I play it whenever I get nostalgic for the 80s, which is quite often these days.
Yup, one of my least favorite Scorpions songs. I wasn't a big fan of too many of any of the ballads from that period , though I liked Scorpions stuff like 'Rock you like a Hurricane', 'No one like you", etc. From what I've observed it is Russians digging that song to the point of crying anytime it is on. Was just in some bars in Pattaya, Thailand a few months ago and there are a lot of Russian tourists who request that song from cover bands and will sob and buy drinks for anyone while it's played. And they will request it over and over again too. I guess it represents an important period of time for them, though Putin has reversed many of the gains they made towards freedom. Still, there are a fair number of Russians in the middle class now they can at least afford a trip to Thailand.
Yup, and it damn near killed my enjoyment of the band.
I remember. The Scorpions are all I listen to when I am downhill skiing. Their music just fits my ski style from the hard driving rock for high speed runs down black diamond trails, to the ballads for the sweeping vistas at the top of the mountain as you glide down through wide powder turns. In fact, I only listen to the Scorpions when I’m downhill skiing so I don’t burn out on their music during the rest of the year.
