The bolding is mine, and the main reasons for posting this announcement.
Am guessing that there was enough griping re PM being mistakenly identified as FF that the devs got busy on it.

Pale Moon: Release notes
24.5.0 (2014-04-25)
This is a security and bugfix release, to address outstanding known issues and streamline browser identity.
Fixes/changes:
- Fix plugin doorhanger code for removed-node confusion.
- Remove Mozilla Corp specific details from search plugins, to clearly indicate the client is Pale Moon and to make sure searches are never counted towards other browser's searches by mistake by search providers.
- Make sure to set both "warnOnClose" and "warnOnCloseOther" prefs to false when users choose to disable this check in the popup prompt.
- Update branding: Remove nightly branding altogether - only have unofficial+official, and fix the broken About dialog branding.
- Bugfix: Clamp level of WebGL TexImage operations to 32-bits to avoid issues on x64 architectures.
- Update Linux theme: feed icon
- Bugfix: Add Firefox Compatibility flag to unofficial branding.
- Workaround for several prominent websites complaining about an "outdated browser".

If you've not already looked there, perhaps the eM forums can help with that.

Considering FF seemed to jump 3 version #s per week lately, that version lag w/PM doesn't bother me a bit !
What does bother me tho is that I've been threatening to give Linus (mint?) a serious tryout for waaaay too long, and it's gotta go on my 'gotta do' list.
I've about had it up to *here* with the M$ racket.

That's odd .. just checked on my page and edit's ok.
I run AdBlock + the popup addon + the element hiding helper.
Ghostery too.

Thanks for the link, didn’t find anything for my specific problem but did find a bunch of other good stuff.
My problem isn’t a problem really even if my links in email open in Firefox they still open, I can copy and paste to eM.

Wait a second .. duhhh > me !
In PM, click > Tools / Options / Advanced / General tab / and at the bottom, click the bar to make PM your default browser.
Am guessing you never specified a default browser after making the switch to PM, and that should fix your problem.
If not, there's prolly a similar option that needs checked in your email app to point it to PM instead of FF.
